Dull Woods

One of three MetroPark conservation areas, Dull Woods is the smallest.  While possible to ride from downtown Dayton, it is not recommended. The Wolf Creek Trail (38), has a gap requiring a 3.5mile ride on Little Richmond Road, which is very busy. It would be better to park at the Old Towne Depot in Trotwood at the intersection of Wolf Creek Pike/Main Street & Broadway and ride north to Dull Woods from there. The Dull Woods Conservation area is a tiny spot, directly accessible from the bike path, making it a nice stop. Your nose will remind you that you're in farm country! Leave your bikes at the entrance and walk the boardwalk through the Swamp Forest. Afterwards, continue northwest to Verona where the bike path ends or ride southeast, back to the train depot and railroad car in Trotwood.
